The consequences and delinquencies of buying sex – Jamie

07 Aug The consequences and delinquencies of buying sex – Jamie

Jamie tells his story as a client of sex workers. His story questions the way police treat clients and the entrenched homophobia and xenophobia he experiences from the police. In June 2014, nine male and transgender sex workers gathered in Cape Town to participate in the digital story-telling workshop. Participants explore how the criminalisation of sex work, the stigma attached to the profession and the high levels of violence in South Africa affect their daily lives.

Created in partnership with Sex Workers Education and Advocacy Task Force (SWEAT) and Sonke Gender Justice, South Africa, June 2014.
